So I have been told that I should get my portfolio up on my own site and not just using a blog although it had kept me very happy thus far. Easy CMS system with great styles to choose from. But I guess having my own domain name is something that agencies/human resources/employers want to see. So, currently, it's in production.
So as you can see, it's very purple. I am paraphrasing but some once told me that a bit of purple can really bring an image together. Maybe this is too much but I really like it. Who knows if I might change it some time down the road but for now, it's a work in progress.
The side nav is going to have icons as it's collapsed but once the user clicks on them, the nav will slide out and the nav title will appear. Whether or not I want the icons to fade (which would be cool) is still up in the air. Depends on the coding that goes into it and the time. Then there is the portfolio page...that will be a plug-in my bf found that he would implement (isn't he a great guy =D <3). I can't wait till that's done. But I will take part in all the SEO for the site nav. Hopefully this goes very smoothly, I have done most of it as we speak. I'll update whenever possible.

Re-Skinning
Lately, I have been trying to figure out how to redesign the look of my parent's site. So far, I have this to present. It's a work in progress and its only just the standard pages. I haven't even touched upon the level of details within some of the other pages. But once it's approved, it will go into cut and develop. May take a while since it's "free"lance. I'm just hoping for a good outcome. I'll try and keep my project posted.

Altered Llanmower Elves Magic Cards
Acryllic
Cardkitty.com is an Altered Card company in Toronto, Canada and so this is the outcome of my project that I have done in the last month. It was a lot of fun to paint so friggin' small...and a little frustrating but it wasn't bad at all. Anyway here was the backstory of the images...
So a co-worker of a friend plays Magic Cards and for a christmas present for his friend wanted to have altered cards done. Long story short...this guy's friend always had a habit of calling it Lawnmower Elves and has the biggest thing for anime chicks. So my project was to incorporate the two into a single image and onto this card.
I would definitely do more given the opportunity. =)

Pushing Artistic Abilities of Mediums
Acrylic, Gesso, Coca Cola
65" x 48"
Life drawing project that involves working in mediums that you're not yet comfortable with. Instructions were to push our art ability beyond what we are use to and work with it. There were times where I find myself working backwards to what I was comfortable with and my professor would come over and pour the coke all over it again making me work out of it.
It was an interesting project yet fun. Unfortunately, this professor has moved to another time zone for a better proposition.

Watercolor
Laura Imme
I was working on these watercolor images for a friend of mine so that she could create a notepad with this image watermarked onto them. Great holiday gift to herself. ^_^

Movia Robotics
Movia Robotics is a new robotics company in Hartford CT. I designed their logo using the specs that the CEO gave me and through a few e-mails and phone calls, I came up with this graphic. Working with his developers now to come up with images/icons/interface for their new software. Will post when they are complete. =)

Mural of the Fairies - Julia Pasinissi's bedroom
So in the last month, I have been painting a mural for my brother's friend's younger sister. She wanted fairies but I could go crazy on the wall. As my first large scale mural, this was the result of 30-35 hours of work.
After the first 8 hours, this was the result...less colors but I still liked the effect.
I loved the trees since it gave such depth (in person).
Trees from an angle
I added the water after the 12th or so hour of working on the mural. And oh! Painter's tape is a miraculous invention!!!
According to Julia, this is Silvermist....? And no, it's not a decal...I actually painted that on and added the powder pigment for the gold effect.
The Tinkerbell...as you can tell, Julia LOVES her fairies.
The Final Finished Mural. I wish there were better closeup pictures but I will post them in the near future.
All in all, I loved this project! It was a lot of fun to do and I can't wait to do the next one if anything comes of it. Next up, I'm doing a triptic painting (rather large one too) for the breakfast nook in my kitchen. Can't wait!!
